"A meaningful renovation does not simply refresh a home—it renews the way people live, move, gather, and feel within it. The Amit Kumar Dey Residence was envisioned as a transformation of an existing home into a more comfortable, elegant, and guest-ready living environment. Spread across 1,500+ sq. ft., the project was shaped around the client’s vision of creating a residence that felt deeply comfortable for everyday family life while leaving a strong impression on visitors. Every design decision focused on improving spatial ease, visual warmth, functionality, and the overall sense of welcome. The result is a home that feels refreshed without losing familiarity, refined without feeling excessive, and impressive without compromising everyday comfort."
The challenge was to transform an existing residence into a home that felt more comfortable, polished, and memorable. The client wanted a renovation that improved daily living while also creating a strong “wow” factor for visitors. This required balancing practical needs such as movement, storage, lighting, and usability with a refined visual identity that could make the home feel more open, inviting, and elevated.
The design strategy focused on turning the renovation into a complete lifestyle upgrade. Spatial planning was refined to improve flow and comfort, while material finishes, lighting, furniture placement, and detailing were carefully composed to create a warmer and more impressive living experience. Public areas were treated as key impact zones, designed to welcome guests with clarity, elegance, and visual appeal. Private spaces were shaped around ease, comfort, and everyday functionality. Rather than approaching the project as a surface-level makeover, the design reimagined the home as a more graceful, efficient, and emotionally inviting environment—one that supports daily life beautifully while creating a lasting impression.
